Our Director, Dr. Lena Palaniyappa has been awarded the 2025 Royal‑Mach‑Gaensslen Prize for Mental Health Research, one of Canada’s top national honors recognizing groundbreaking innovation in mental health.

This prestigious award celebrates Dr. Palaniyappan’s pioneering research in the early identification and treatment of psychosis, one of the most severe and resource-intensive mental illnesses affecting young people. His leadership at the Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health has not only advanced scientific understanding but also shaped practical approaches that improve outcomes for youth across Canada.
