Experiential science talks series: Mélodie Cordeau

Last week marked the return of our experiential science seminar series from the Centre of Excellence in Youth Mental Health, featuring Mélodie Cordeau from Dans La Rue – Coalition Jeunes +, held at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute.

This seminar created a meaningful space for dialogue and reflection between Mélodie and mental health professionals on the topic of youth homelessness. Her presentation explored the root causes of homelessness, barriers to accessing services, and the importance of challenging stigma and misconceptions.
She also highlighted a key element: the critical role of building trust between youth and professionals to improve access to care and support services.

Through her work, Mélodie actively contributes to advancing sustainable solutions to prevent youth homelessness and to strengthening the recognition of young people’s rights across Quebec.
